TENNESSEE VALLEY (WHNT) – If you’re waking up curious about the winter weather, there’s not much to see.

There wasn’t very much snow overnight for north Alabama. Around 10 p.m. Tuesday to midnight, a few areas reported light snow with no accumulation. Huntsville International Airport reported light snow. Trinity and Caddo reported a few flurries.  A quick as it started, it was gone.

This was the radar image Tuesday at 11:41 p.m.

Roads are in good shape, too.  We’ve checked with police in various counties and none report any problems.  Please use caution in case you come upon a slick spot, but for the most part you should be okay.

Now, drier and colder air builds into the Tennessee Valley. The clearing line is back to the west and that takes over our forecast today. A few clouds this morning give way to a mostly sunny sky this afternoon, but temperatures struggle. Highs this afternoon won’t get out of the middle 30s with a gusty northwest wind. If you are doing last second shopping for Thanksgiving, bundle up! Wind chills will be in teens this afternoon.

Winds are already gusting over 20 mph this morning and will only get stronger through the day. Tonight’s lows dip into the teens for some especially in southern middle Tennessee. Look for a dry, but cold Thanksgiving Day. Highs stay in the middle 40s.
