MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – It’s just an orange rubber bracelet, but it signifies so much more for a Morgan County boy who is battling leukemia. He wears one, and so does his hero on the Alabama Crimson Tide, Kevin Norwood.
Norwood, a star wide receiver for the Tide, wears number 83. Braxton Voss, a second grader at Priceville Elementary, has a jersey with the same number.
Voss was diagnosed with leukemia on the second day of school this year. Since then, his family has been by his side as he wages the fight. So has Norwood, who offers support through Facebook and email. He also wears an orange bracelet, and you may have noticed it on his wrist during some of Alabama’s recent football games. The color orange signifies leukemia awareness.
The two met in person recently when Voss’ family visited the campus in Tuscaloosa. Voss and Norwood threw the football on one of Alabama’s practice fields and talked about their shared faith.
You can keep up with Braxton’s progress on the Prayers Braxton Facebook page.
