HARTSELLE, ALa. (WHNT) – An 18-wheeler overturned in Hartselle on Tuesday, spilling its load of lumber.

It happened at 9:30 a.m. on Thompson Road near Interstate 65.

Authorities say the driver of the 18-wheeler was heading north on I-65 and lost control of the vehicle on the ramp.  The truck was transporting lumber, which ended up scattered on the road and into a ravine.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was taken to Decatur Morgan Hospital with minor injuries.

The Thompson Road exit ramp is closed while crews work to clear the scene.
