HARTSELLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Lieutenant Wilson with the Morgan County Drug Task Force reports that the serving of a drug warrant resulted in the arrest of eight individuals and the seizure of drugs, weapons, money, and a military ordnance.
The warrant was served at a residence at the intersection of Highway 36 and Prospect Dr, just west of Hartselle. Inside the residence, the Morgan County Drug Task Force found a shotgun, meth, marijuana, an assortment of pills, bullet proof vest, money, and an explosive device.
The explosive device was a military training ordnance. The Madison County Drug Task Force requested the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms to come in and deal with. According to Wilson, it posed no deadly danger, but they were not to be in possession of such a device. Wilson said it was most likely an artillery simulator that had been stolen from somewhere.
Charges for the eight in custody have yet to be filed, but Wilson said the amount of sudafedrin was enough for federal charges. Wilson said the department will consider trafficking charges if the amount of drugs proves high enough.
