Train Transporting Crude Oil Catches Fire; Explosions Reported
Firefighters and hazmat teams are on the scene of a train fire near Tuscaloosa.
ALICEVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Firefighters and hazmat teams are on the scene of a train fire just west of Tuscaloosa.
It happened early Friday morning in Aliceville. Witnesses say there have also been at least two explosions.
A Pickensville firefighter says the train was carrying crude oil.
Crews have moved the other cars away from the burning rail cars. Oil that had been leaking from the train has been contained.
Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the train fire.
