Tuscaloosa Ala, - (WHNT) A similar question at press conferences in Alabama and LSU provided two rather different answers.
It was trademark Les Miles and Nick Saban to kick off a week full of hype for Saturday's game at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Three questions into Miles' press conference, which opened with him detailing his children's athletic achievements during the bye week, the LSU coach was asked what Alabama week was like from his perspective.
"What it's like is just a little more energy in the step of your team, their attention to detail is greater," he said, according to a transcript on NOLA.com. "Their attention to watching film and extra time is something that they put in. And yeah, I enjoy it very much. I've always enjoyed the competition with some of the better teams in the this country and certainly Alabama is that."
Saban opened his press conference by saying "this is not the kind of game that anybody could not get excited about playing in," but reverted toward a more Process-centric answer at the end when he was asked about the kind of "enjoyment" he experiences when he prepares for the Tigers.
"I think that from my perspective, the way we try to get ready for every game is sort of the same kind of grind, whatever you want to call it, in terms of every situation that comes up, getting your players to understand and anticipate what's going to happen, what they need to do to execute, get them to practice and prepare so that it gives them the best opportunity when the game comes," he said. "Look, we have a tremendous amount of respect for this team but we've had a tremendous amount of respect for every team we play. If there was a better way to do it, we would already have been trying to do it that way.
