LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Sheriff’s deputies made a rare whiskey bust Wednesday in Lawrence County.
Sheriff Gene Mitchell says deputies located a 15-gallon pot still at a home on Highway 33. That’s just north of Moulton.
Deputies arrested Shawnrie Herschel Osborn, 35, at the scene. He is charged with one count of illegal possession of still, a misdemeanor.
Mitchell says this is the first still bust during his seven-year run as sheriff. He says the homemade whiskey sells for as much as $150 per gallon.
Osborn was booked in the Lawrence County Jail and later released on a $2,000 bond.
