Trick or Treat: Few Cities Suggest Different Nights, Other Events Rescheduled
TENNESSEE VALLEY (WHNT) – We’re all watching the weather closely for tonight. Kids are ready to dress up in their Halloween costumes, ring door bells and stock up on candy.
It’s going to be a wet night, though. Light showers can be expected at anytime today, but the heavier rain holds off until this afternoon and evening. The Storm Prediction Center has a portion of the Tennessee Valley under a slight risk for severe weather this evening. Damaging winds are the main threat and the risk for a tornado is very low. Be prepared for heavy rain and gusty winds this evening during trick-or-treating time. Read more details on our weather blog, Valleywx.com.
Only a handful of cities so far have announced suggested changes in trick-or-treating:
*Arab – Wednesday night (Oct. 30)
*Stevenson – Saturday night (Nov. 2)
Several fall festivals, trunk or treats, and other events have rescheduled:
*The City of Madison will move the Halloween on Main event to Dublin Park. The area for trick or treating, games, and activities will be set up in the gymnasium and the haunted house will be set up in the meeting rooms. Set up will start at 3:00 pm. The event will be 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
*The Rock Family Worship Center Fayetteville TN campus is cancelling Harvest Fest at Lyons Family Farms tomorrow October 31st.
*Cornerstone Word of Life Church in Madison, AL has rescheduled their Annual Fall Festival to Friday, November 1 at 6:30 PM at 132 Maple St, Madison, AL 35758.
These are the only cities and events to notify WHNT News 19 of a change so far. If other cities or events suggest a change in evenings due to the Thursday’s weather, we’ll definitely update you.
Cities: To contact us about a change, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. We ask you to use an official city/government email address. Please include your phone number in case we need to verify the notice.
