Trial Underway for Halloween Murder
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) –Testimony is underway for a murder that happened on Halloween two years ago.
Sheldon Henry and Henry Varise are standing trial together for the murder of Christopher Collier. Investigators say the men shot Collier in the parking lot of the Showers Center during a fight.
During the second day of the trial, prosecutors called a witness who says he fired shots in self-defense that night but says he saw Varise and Henry deliver the killing blows.
The witness describes himself as a friend of Collier and says he rushed to the young man’s side, eventually helping others take him to the hospital.
Prosecutors called another witness who says he gave Varise and Henry one of the guns they used that evening, specifically the AK-47.
Prosecutors say a .380 automatic pistol was used as well
Prosecutors said Varise and Henry also shot another man, but he survived.
