LAWRENCE CO., Ala. (WHNT) - It was a bone chilling-start to the morning Saturday, but it didn't stop a group of people and their pets from coming out for a Halloween costume contest and fundraiser in Lawrence County.

The group met near the Hatton High School for an event to support the Lil Susie Foundation Fund to Help Small Animals.

After a 5K run and one-mile fun run, owners and their furry friends paraded around the area vying for awards for the Most Creative, Unique, Funniest, and Scariest costumes.

WHNT NEWS 19's Beth Jett was one of the judges.

The Lil Susie Small Animals in Need Fund Foundation is a non-profit founded in January 2013 in Moulton.
