NEW HOPE, Ala. (WHNT) — Family and friends are mourning the death of a 16-year-old New Hope teen.
Alabama State Troopers say Erin Nichole Clark died in a one vehicle crash early Saturday morning.
It happened at the intersection of Popular Ridge Road and Woody Circle near New Hope. Troopers say the car hit a utility pole.
Saturday night the community gathered to remember the teen at a prayer service.
Friends and family say Erin was always in their thoughts. Even though she’s not here any more, they say that won’t change.
“She was beautiful, she was amazing,” Anna Ingram says.
She has known Erin since kindergarten. “Erin was amazing. If you knew her, you know what I’m talking about. She was the sweetest person,” she says.
Evidence of the crash that took Erin’s life is gone. In it’s place is a memorial, letting passersby know Erin won’t ever be forgotten.
Friends say it’s hard to realize she won’t be here anymore, but they say the teen who touched so many people won’t ever really be gone. “We’ll always remember Erin,” Ingram says.
Erin was in the crash with two other teens. Friends say one of the girls went home Saturday afternoon. The other teen is still in critical condition.
