Sgt. Jantzen Murrell Frazier (Ret.)

HARTSELLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Sergeant Jantzen Murrell Frazier (Ret.) died while responding to a fire Thursday afternoon in Morgan County.  The fire truck he was driving crashed.

Frazier graduated from Hartselle High School in 2003. He enlisted in the Army in June of that year and served through May 2011, when he retired due to a disability.

WHNT News 19 contacted the Pentagon on October 18 to learn about Frazier’s time in the service:

  • June-December 2003: Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina
  • December 2003-December 2005: 127th Combat Support Battalion, 601st Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, Fliegerhorst, Germany
  • December 2005-February 200: 115th Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas
  • February 2008-May 2011: Warrior Transition Unit, Fort Hood, Texas
  • Deployments to Iraq from December 2003-July 2004 and October 2006-January 2008
