SCOTTSBORO, Ala. (WHNT) – Scottsboro Street Department Superintendent Ronnie Dolberry has been suspended from duty for 30 days, reported the Scottsboro paper The Daily Sentinel.
Dolberry’s is suspended without pay for a violation of city policy, though, city leaders declined to explain further, citing legal reasons.
Mayor Melton Potter did confirm, however, that there was an accident involving a street department employee on September 24.
“The employee was loading a bulldozer onto a trailer,” said Potter. “The bulldozer rolled over.”
The employee suffered a sprained neck and was treated and released from Highlands Medical Center, said Potter. He did not comment on if the accident and Dolberry’s suspension were related.
“The accident is currently under investigation,” said Potter.
Dolberry was hired as the street department superintendent in January 2008. He is scheduled to return to work on Nov. 4.
Efforts to reach Dolberry Monday by The Daily Sentinel were unsuccessful.
