Deep Roots of Alabama is a gardening and educational initiative in Huntsville. Their mission is to teach and encourage individuals, families and communities to grow their own food and learn healthy lifestyle choices one garden at a time.
This year the Deep Root of Huntsville Harvest Celebration and silent-auction fund-raiser, “Harvest for Huntsville 2013″ will be at The Renaissance Theatre on Meridian Street on October 10th from 6pm to 10 pm.
Highlights of the evening include:
- Locally grown produce, prepared by local Chefs Sam Buchanan and Trevonee Simelton
- Muscle Shoals local musicians, Harvey Thompson and the Thompson Trio
- Tours of Lincoln Academy’s school garden, where the kids will treat patrons with a scarecrow competition.
