Etowah County Hosts “Run, Hide, Fight Active Shooter Preparedness”
ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — Authorities are constantly training to prepare for a situation they hope they never have to face: an active shooter scenario.
The Etowah County Sheriff’s Office is offering training to citizens for prepare for such a situation. People can attend the “Run, Hide, Fight Active Shooter Preparedness” training today. The session will be taught at the Sheriff’s Office from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Classes will also be offered on October 10, 17, and 24.

An additional class will be offered at Gadsden Regional Medical Center on October 15 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
The Etowah County Sheriff says since January all of his deputies have participated in specialized active shooter training. More than 400 citizens have completed a firearms safety course. The authorities have also put on safety seminars fro businesses, schools, and churches.
