Small Business Owners Learn about Health Care Changes
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Small business owners in Huntsville started their Wednesday thinking about some big changes they’ll face in less than a week coming from the new Affordable Healthcare Act.
The law is set to take effect across the country next Tuesday, October 1st.
Michael Velezis, Executive Counsel of BlueCross BlueShield, traveled from Birmingham to speak to about 80 local small business owners at the Huntsville-Madison County Chamber of Commerce.
Attendees quickly began to pepper Velezis with questions about costs they’ll incur with the new mandate, tax credits available to them and how to comply the new law.
Velezis said people can learn much more about the law, its requirements and the changes it brings by going online to his company’s explanation. It’s at http://HCRAlabamaBlue.com.
