Woes Continue for Bridge Street Restaurants as The Tavern Closes its Doors
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – The Tavern at Bridge Street has become the latest restaurant casualty in the war to remain open at Bridge Street Town Centre.
A Tavern employee told WHNT on Wednesday evening, “as of today, we are closed for business.”
Bridge Street Town Centre opened in 2007 as the first shopping center of its kind in Huntsville. Since its open, several restaurants have come and gone, including Watercress Restaurant, The Heritage Club, Pinz, Ketchup, Tommy’s Pizza, and SmokeHouse.
Madison County Tax Collector Lynda Hall says Watercress Restaurant, The Heritage Club, and Pinz, all once located in the Bridge Street Town Centre, are closed and owed business personal property taxes in excess of ten thousand dollars.
Some restaurants, however, have stood the test of time. P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, Connors Steak & Seafood, The Melting Pot, and Red Robin have been staples of Bridge Street for many years now.
