Compressed Natural Gas Station Opens in Athens
ATHENS, Ala. (WHNT) – A money saving fueling station opened in Athens Wednesday. If you run on compressed natural gas, there’s a new place to fill up. The city of Athens has transitioned their fleet vehicles to run on compressed natural gas. But the opening of the public CNG station right off I65 puts Athens in the right lane of future fuels.
The fuel cost only $1.65 a gallon. Athens currently has 11 CNG vehicles on the fleet, including 3 garbage trucks.
