Former basketball star Dennis Rodman is headed back to North Korea for a five-day visit and planning to meet the country’s leader Kim Jong-un.
As Reuters reports, there had been some speculation Rodman, who met North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in March, would attempt to secure the release of Kenneth Bae – a missionary jailed for more than a decade for trying to overthrow the North Korean government.
“I’m not going to North Koreaf to discuss freeing Kenneth Bae,” Rodman told Reuters before he left Beijing for Pyongyang. “I’m just going there on another basketball diplomacy tour.”
Kim is a basketball fan and appeared to get along well with Rodman on the flamboyant basketball star’s earlier visit.
