Pedestrian Struck, Killed in Limestone County

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Alabama State Troopers are investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian.

The incident happened about at 9:30 p.m. Monday in Limestone County.

State Troopers say someone called the Limestone County Sheriff’s office about a woman walking along Highway 251, east of Athens. Before officers could get there, another call came in about a pedestrian being hit by a car at McKee and Davis Cut Roads.

The victim has been identified as 47-year-old Wanda McKelzey. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

No charges are expected against the driver.
