MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — A woman was booked into the Madison County Jail early Saturday morning and charged with murder.
Caren Gayle Rush was involved in a fatal Harvest accident in December 2012. The wreck killed 24-year-old Emily Daye.
According to the Metro Jail website, Rush was booked at 1:54 a.m. Saturday. She was arrested by Madison County Sheriff’s deputies and her bond is set at $120,000.
Alabama court records reveal a litany of legal troubles for Rush. Her prior charges include possession of a controlled substance, 2nd degree assault and criminal mischief.
In October of 2012, Rush’s charge for unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance was waived to a grand jury. According to court documents, Rush’s bond was revoked back in January on previous charges after she was named as the at-fault driver in the wreck that killed Daye.
Alabama State Troopers tell us they cannot provide additional details on the arrest because the case has been turned over to the Madison County District Attorney’s Office. WHNT News 19 is working to gather more specifics from prosecutors about the circumstances leading to Rush’s arrest and murder charge.
