Just in time for football season… McDonald’s plans to offer chicken wings at U.S. restaurants starting Sept. 9. The trial run for wings will extend through November, according to a report published Friday.
BurgerBusiness said “Mighty Wings,” which previously have been market tested in select cities, will now roll out nationally at $2.99 for three wings. McDonald’s is also reportedly going to sell five and 10-piece orders.
McDonald’s has recently rolled out other temporary items like Fish McBites, in the hope of spicing up the menu and attracting customers. Yahoo Finance reports same-store sales have been sluggish for months. Some observers think the wings could also help the chain attract a casual dinner crowd, instead of the usual grab-and-dash lunch rush.
