TENNESSEE VALLEY (WHNT) – Looking for WHNT2 on Comcast?  We’ve moved to the HD tier.  WHNT2 has moved from channel 211 to 1008.

This change happened on Thursday, August 22.

WHNT’s main channel (19.1) is on Comcast 1009 and WHNT2 (19.2) is now one channel below at 1008.

If you subscribe to Comcast’s HD channel lineup, you will see 1008. If you have Comcast’s basic service and watch WHNT2 on 211 via a DTA (digital converter box), you will no longer be able to watch WHNT2 unless you upgrade to Comcast HD service, or if your HDTV is connected to Comcast directly through a cable out of the wall (bypassing a DTA converter). You may need to rescan your HDTV.

WHNT News 19 recently made a significant investment for equipment upgrades that allow us to broadcast a high-definition signal on both channels.

We apologize for any inconvenience. We don’t like interrupting our viewers’ habits, but the decision to provide WHNT2 to Comcast subscribers in high definition is one we believe will provide for a better viewing experience.
