CHEROKEE, Ala. (WHNT) – People in Colbert County saw some major flash flooding Wednesday morning due to heavy rains.
Much of the flooding was in Cherokee. The Colbert County EMA said reports of flooding started coming in just after 11:30 a.m. The EMA says heavy rains sat on top of Cherokee for nearly an hour.
Flooding was reported near Highway 72, in the downtown area and around the high school.
The EMA said it did not receive any reports of damage from the flash floods.
