FLORENCE-Many thought the Rogers Pirates would struggle after making the jump to Class 4A last fall.

But the Buccos still finished with a respectable (6-5) record, including a playoff appearance in their first year up.

Former Offensive Coordinator Randall Martin is the new man in charge at Rogers. Martin's "Wing T" formation worked well for the Pirates in 2012, and you can expect more of the same in 2013.

There's more of a challenge for the Defense this season though, with All-State Tackle Raleigh Killen moving on.

Coach Martin says that the new guys have to  to step up fast and learn to lead the way Killen did.

The Pirates made it all the way to the State Semifinals two years ago in their last year of 3A football.
