GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - The former Executive Director of the Marshall County Convention and Visitors Bureau was arrested Monday and charged with first degree theft.

Investigators say Lisa Socha is charged with first degree theft in connection to stolen money from the visitors bureau.

A source tells WHNT News 19 that somewhere between $60,000 and $100,000 is missing.  The investigation is still trying to determine exactly how much is gone.

The chairman of the convention and visitors bureau board says he cannot comment on the ongoing investigation.

"We are currently cooperating with law enforcement in this investigative process.  And we look forward to it being resolved as soon as possible," said Tim McRae.

Socha's bond was set at $60,000. According to records, she has already bonded out of jail.

Socha was let go from her job earlier this year after board members discovered a large amount of money was missing.  She had worked in that capacity for the past 20 years.
