TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WHNT) — Alabama sophomore Geno Smith was in hot water Sunday morning. The cornerback was arrested and booked by the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office. Police say Smith was driving under the influence.
According to the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office website, Smith’s bond is set at $1,000. Smith was listed as an inmate at the Tuscaloosa County Jail until late Sunday evening.
“This is obviously not the kind of behavior we expect from our players.” said Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban in a university statement. “I don’t have all of the details at this point and will handle it appropriately once I’ve had a chance to review the information.”
