FORT PAYNE, AL-A winning attitude. Some teams have it, some teams want it. In Fort Payne, they live it. This year’s Senior class has lost only three times-that’s just an average of one loss per year. The Wildcats will certainly need that winning attitude this fall, because they have just three starter’s returning from last year’s 10-1 team, who’s only loss was a 14-6 heart breaker in the playoffs. 53 Seniors have graduated over the last two seasons, leaving quite the legacy. Now it’s up to the underclassmen to carry the torch. Head Coach Paul Ellis is not willing to use the term “rebuilding”.
Once again, an undefeated regular season is the goal, but these Wildcats will have to do it with a new Quarterback. Two year starter Dale Jackson graduated in the spring. But watch out for the Wildcat Defense. Derek Watkins is still coming off the edge after his All-State season in 2012.
