An official in Maryland thinks he has a way to keep prisoners from ending up behind bars again.

Attorney General Douglas Gansler wants to give inmates tablet computers.

According to The Baltimore Sun, monitored use of the devices would provide educational opportunities for online learning plus a way to connect with family members.

Gansler is running for governor, and the tablet idea part of his plan to integrate former inmates back into society.

The Baltimore Sun has more details on this proposal.
