Looking Back: Huntsville’s Scitanic Disaster

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT)– It’s been 29 years since the paddleboat Scitanic capsized on the Tennessee River at Ditto Landing.

Eleven people drowned that day, July 7, 1984.  The cause was ruled to be due to a microburst that hit the boat.
