Murder Suspect Pleads Guilty to Robbery Charge

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - Courtneay Neal Nance, the man facing murder charges in connection with a robbery in May of last year, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of robbery.

Nance has been sentenced to 20 years in prison and probation for the robbery charge.

Huntsville police say Nance was the driver for the man robbing a convenience store. A clerk shot an killed the robber inside the store.

Under Alabama law, if a person is committing a felony and someone dies because of that felony, they can be held criminally responsible.

The store clerk is not facing any charges.
