Iqbal Memon Released from Montgomery Jail
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WHNT)– Iqbal Memon has been released from the Montgomery County Jail. WHNT News 19′s news partner AL.com reports that Memon was released after posting bond.
Memon was arrested Wednesday and charged with stealing $7,000 from the Alabama Medicaid Agency.
Memon is the father of Hammad Memon, the convicted murderer in the 2010 shooting death of Todd Brown at Discovery Middle School in Madison.
In addition to the Medicaid fraud charges, Memon is also charged with hindering prosecution. Authorities say Memon tried to help his son leave the country in 2012 to avoid prosecution in the Discovery Middle School case.
