Discovery Middle Band Director Facing Legal Trouble Resigns
MADISON, Ala. (WHNT) – The Madison City School System released this statement:
“The Madison City Board of Education received the voluntary resignation of John Vardon Nash today pursuant to an agreement approved by the Board last night at its regularly scheduled meeting.”
This move comes shortly after Nash’s attorneys dropped the motion for a preliminary injunction against the Madison School Board of Education’s hearing to terminate Nash.
John Nash has, in fact, now dropped his entire suit again Madison City Schools, according to legal documents his attorney filed on Friday.
John Nash is currently charged with a violation of Alabama’s mandatory reporting law. Police say school administrators notified them on June 28, 2012 of a possible inappropriate relationship between a 15-year-old female student and the 24-year-old Bradley Nash, John Nash’s son.
Police were also informed the alleged relationship had been previously reported to the band director, who police say failed to report it to authorities as required by Alabama law.
Bradley Nash pleaded guilty to federal child pornography charges in May. Investigators found sexually explicit images of a minor female on Bradley Nash’s phone.
