MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) --  Toney Fire & Rescue have a new piece of equipment to care for now with the support of a FEMA Grant and a gift from Senator Bill Holtzclaw.
The department recently took delivery of a critical piece of equipment that will be used to support not only TFR but every department in Madison County, AL. via mutual aid requests. The mobile cascade unit titled Air 514 has the ability to supply one of the most valuable resources to firefighters while the scene is still active. With the ability to refill while on scene, air consumption and shortage of spare bottles are no longer an issue. Prior to obtaining this vehicle, if the department needed to refill air bottles whether it be from training or working fires, they would have to travel to other fire districts and use their cascade, no matter what time of day or night.
The 12 foot cascade trailer will be towed by a department owned F-250.
