HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) -Bad guys beware. A dog is on the loose in north Alabama, and he's wearing a badge.
Cable television star Duane Chapman, better known as "Dog the Bounty Hunter", got a raucous reception from hundreds of fans Tuesday in Huntsville. Chapman and his crew are shooting an episode for his popular show in north Alabama this week, with some of the filming happening right outside #1 Bail Bonding on Oakwood Avenue.
Just who America's most famous bounty hunter is looking for is not yet known, but one local bail bondsmen says Dog's presence is already making a difference.
"It's a great learning experience, he's very good at what he does," said bondsman Chris Kemper, who worked with Chapman and his entourage. "I can't really tell you what the cases are, but these are people who've been out for a little while and had to be brought in. They're working on some of the toughest cases we have."
Show officials did not make Chapman available for an interview, but did confirm that the north Alabama episode will air later this year. Chapman did utter a quick hello to fans while driving away in his vehicle with cast members.
"Good brother, we like it here," said Chapman, referring to his first visit to Alabama.
Show officials said Chapman and his crew will be filming in our area through Friday.
