Local Family To Hold Blood Drive, Benefit for Huntsville Hospital NICU
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Tina Putman is a teacher and mother. Her baby, Reed, was born in 2008 weighing a little more than a pound and a half. He spent 67 days of his life in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children, but sadly, he died.
The family wants to give back to the NICU at Huntsville Hospital. Every year, the family holds a blood drive in memory of Reed’s birthday.
On Saturday, the family is hosting a fundraiser for the Huntsville Hospital NICU on July 20 at 5 p.m. at Charlestone Park in Gurley. The event is free, but donations are encouraged. The event will feature music, food, games and a silent auction.
