HOOVER, Ala. (WHNT) -- Three days, fourteen teams, and over 1200 media representatives from all over the southeast make up SEC Media Days in Hoover.
With so many people shuffling around The Wynfrey Hotel, it's hard to imagine all of the preparations that the hotel staff had to make to accommodate not just the massive amount of people, but the large number of journalists.
"As you know this is a hotbed for football so everyone of my team members is a fan of one of the teams," said Andy Peters, the general manager of The Wynfrey Hotel. Peters said the checklist for his staff to prepare for SEC Media Days is very lengthy.
"From ordering the extra telephone lines to having enough capability for the internet to handle all the people that are here, to taking care of the guest rooms and food and beverage, it's a lot and its a lot of planning and coordination that goes with it," said Peters.
Peters told WHNT News 19 that hosting the SEC is a challenge that his staff loves to take on. "t's a lot of work and a lot of fun, its something that all of the team members at the hotel look forward to every year."
When it's all said and done on Thursday evening, Peters said his staff will celebrate just like any other team that walked through the hotel's doors earlier in the week. "It's like winning the bcd championship, my team will be just as pumped when it all leaves just like I'm sure Alabama was when they won the championship."
