JASPER, Ala. (WHNT) – A Jasper hospital was evacuated this morning due to a bomb threat, but in spite of the disturbance caused, the hope associated with new life won the day.

According to Jasper police, at 8:30 Friday morning a bomb threat was made via 911.

The caller claimed that there were bombs placed at Walker Baptist Medical Center in addition to a bridge on Highway 69.

Police quickly reacted to the situation, clearing both the hospital and the bridges with bomb detection dogs.

Though patients were displaced, Mother Nature waits for no man or woman.

Police tweeted this just after noon on Friday:

Police made it clear that no explosives were found during the search.

Anyone with information about the threat can contact the Jasper Police Department at (205)221-6790.
