FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Alabama State Troopers are investigating a two-vehicle wreck that killed a small child.

Troopers say the wreck happened Sunday about 1:35 p.m. on Alabama 24, just east of Russellville.  Abigail Williams, 9, of Hamilton was thrown from the 1999 Chevrolet S-10 truck she was riding in.  She died at the scene.  Troopers say Williams was not buckled in.

The truck’s driver, a 16-year-old boy, was taken to Russellville Hospital for treatment along with another passenger.  The driver of the other vehicle involved was also hurt, along with three passengers in her vehicle, which was burned beyond recognition.

State Troopers are still investigating the crash.
