HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Downtown Huntsville, Inc., the organization formed to broaden community engagement and support a creative vision for downtown Huntsville, has brought in a new CEO to help with that creative vision.
Chad Emerson, the current Director of City Development in Montgomery, has been hired as the new CEO for Downtown Huntsville, Inc.
“Chad Emerson brings to us years of professional experience in urban visioning and planning in addition to a list of innovative downtown development projects,” said Evans Quinlivan, chairman of Downtown Huntsville, Inc.
In Montgomery, Emerson implemented and oversaw several downtown successful development projects and formed an architectural design studio.
“Downtown Huntsville has an incredibly high ceiling because of the great existing assets as well as strategic downtown development sites that would make any city envious,” said Emerson. “I look forward to collaborating with a wide variety of downtown stakeholders to help make downtown Huntsville one of the best places anywhere to live, work and visit.”
Downtown Huntsville, Inc. has more than 60 founding members and has raised over $1,000,000 in pledges, according to Quinlivan. The largest donor is the City of Huntsville at $90,000 per year.
