LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Calhoun Community College is wrapping up a four-day summer camp designed to introduce young women to non-traditional, technical careers.
Camp SWeETy, which stands for Summer Welding and Electrical Technology, is just open to girls entering 9th-12th grades.
Participants learn the basics of electrical wiring by building a lamp, and how to weld a smooth bead.
This camp continues to grow each year. This year, Calhoun added a second SWeETy camp for the first time.
