Grand Jury does not Indict Teacher Accused of Molesting Students
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – The Huntsville teacher accused of sexually abusing seven children at McDonnell Elementary will not face charges after a grand jury failed to return an indictment.
Harvey Aubin Knotts, 40, was arrested in April of 2011 with 10 counts of sexual abuse of a child under 12. According to court documents, the case involved seven female students at McDonnell Elementary, all ages 9 or 10.’
Knotts has been on administrative leave with pay since the day of his arrest.
Our news partners at The Huntsville Times and al.com reported that Knotts was previously convicted of a sex-related charge involving a 13-year-old girl in Bermuda, but that charge was alter overturned.
