HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) -- In Huntsville on Saturday, people were literally walking down the side of a building to help raise money for the YMCA. The Heart of the Valley YMCA's "Over the Edge" fundraiser allowed people to rappel down the side of the Times building in downtown Huntsville.

It's one of the Huntsville YMCA's major fundraising events of the year. Those who participated raised $1,500 for the YMCA and then were able to rappel down the side of the 12-story building for the adrenaline rush of a lifetime.

A spokesperson for the YMCA told WHNT News 19 the event will raise about $50,000 to help offset the cost of several programs they provide for the community.
