LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) -- Governor Bentley paid a visit to Limestone County Thursday morning. He got a look at a brand new piece of educational equipment at the Alabama Robotics Technology Park in Tanner. "This is a very unique facility here," said Bentley. "It's probably unlike any in the entire country, maybe in the entire world."
The Mobile Robotics Training Lab will educate students as young as kindergarten and will teach them what it's like to have a career in the automation field. "We're trying to encourage students to become interested in skill trades and skill jobs so that we`ll have enough skilled workers as we recruit new industries in Alabama and retain the industries that we have and also we`re encouraging entrepreneurship and innovation," said Governor Bentley.
Governor Bentley said that industry in North Alabama is already booming and he wants to keep it on that track. "It's easy for me to recruit industry into this area," he said. "Because of the expertise that's already here, our universities, our school systems, all of that really helps us recruit industries into this area."
