Athens, Tenn. (WHNT) – Two years ago, Nate Silver and the New York Times researched which schools had the most college football fans. They concluded Alabama had the eighth-most fans in the entire country.
You may expect that ranking to go up after the Tide’s back-to-back national championships. One example was how Nick Saban went to the Volunteers’ back yard in eastern Tennessee and spoke to several Tide fans.
“There’s a really good support and a really good fanbase just about everywhere we go, and I think one of the reasons that we’ve been successful is our fans are such a big part of our team and they’ve been very positive with their support,” said Nick Saban, Alabama head coach. “Their energy and enthusiasm has certainly helped us be successful.”
