NEW HOPE, Ala. (WHNT) – A house and travel trailer caught fire at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. It happened in the 100-block of Washington Avenue in New Hope.
Neighbors saw flames shooting from the house and called 911.
More than a dozen fire fighters from New Hope and Owens Cross Roads raced to save the home. By the time crews arrived, the house was too far gone. Volunteers worked for more than two hours to put it out.
No one lives in the home. We are told the owner lives in Huntsville and was in the process of renovating the house. He recently put the travel trailer behind it in hopes of moving there until the renovations were complete.
Both are a total loss. Fire investigators will be on the scene today to determine the cause.
