Man Seriously Wounded in Shooting on Barbara Drive
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Huntsville police say a man was seriously wounded after being shot during a robbery Monday afternoon at the 2900 block of Barbara Drive.
Authorities say they received the call to 2906 Barbara Drive at 5:45 after reports of shots fired. LaMont Price, 38, told police that he and a friend were sitting on the deck behind his home when two men armed with handguns approached and demanded money and drugs.
Price charged the two armed men and began struggling for a gun with one of them. One of the armed men shot Price.
Price fled around his home, pursued by the armed men. He was shot several more times during the chase. Price finally offered the armed men his wallet, then they fled the scene on foot.
Price was shot four times in his leg, abdomen, and hand. He was transported to the Huntsville Hospital ER where he is reported to be in stable condition.
K-9 team searched the neighborhood for two men witnesses say took off from the scene following the shooting, but that search did not come up with any suspects being located.
Police are investigating.
