Cullman, Ala. (WHNT) – If there’s one school that probably wants to maintain its cross-divisional rivalries more than any other in the SEC, it’s Auburn.
The Tigers are in the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry with Georgia. But for now, they are in different divisions. Though they’ve maintained the rivalry, there are questions about its future given the league thinking about changing its scheduling format. So will Auburn get to maintain some of its bigger rivals?
“I think so,” said Gus Malzahn, Auburn head coach. “I think over the next couple of years, I think everything will be lined out. There are a lot of questions with the new format and what the committee is looking for but eight games has been very successful for the league, the past seven years.”
