HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - A Huntsville nephrologist appeared in court Thursday, but his trial was continued for two months.

Dr. Amish Shah is charged with harassment.  His trial, in Huntsville Municipal Court, was continued until August 1 at 8:30 a.m.

An employee at Huntsville Hospital made the claims against him in late February.  Shah pleaded not guilty to the charge at his arraignment in March.

He had no comment as he left the courtroom Thursday.  His family was there with him.

Dr. Shah is an independent member of the medical staff at both Huntsville Hospital and Crestwood Medical Center. He also operates the Comprehensive Kidney Disease Center on Whitesport Drive.

Neither Shah's attorney or officials at Huntsville Hospital offered any comment on the situation.

The Alabama State Board of Medical Examiners is also involved in the investigation.
