Friends Gather To Pray For Gunner Scarano And Wreck Victims
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Shocked and saddened, friends and former teammates of Gunner Scarano gathered at Huntsville High School, Thursday night to pray for his recovery.
Scarano is currently in good condition at the UAB Burn Center, but earlier this week was facing life-threatening injuries after police say he caused a wreck on Bailey Cove that injured 8 people, and killed 10-year-old Jaden Coppens.
Friends say Scarano now knows what happened on Tuesday, and is trying to stay positive despite the tough road ahead.
“I can’t imagine what these families are going through,” said Brandon Honeywell, a friend of Scarano’s. “And obviously with the loss of the child, our hearts are with them.
Knowing the challenges ahead, his friends wrote uplifting notes and posters to send to Scarano as he recovers.
His friends have asked those who know him to continue to pray for his healing, and for that of the Coppens family.
